The Salvation Army’s Springfield Lodge in South London helps 16 to 21 year olds find a safe environment. With accommodation for up to 40 young people, the centre operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with waking night cover. Staff support young people who have left home for a variety of reasons and who are considered vulnerable and at risk. Service Manager Ivan Congreve said: “We work hard to build relationships with young people, many of whom are impacted by relationship breakdowns and gang culture. By providing a safe environment for them to live, offering valuable life skills and helping them work towards a qualification, we hope to empower them to reach their full potential.”
