One day only sale event, Saturday 6 August, 10am
The Salvation Army’s flagship Glasgow charity shop on Dumbarton Road is hosting a designer sale day on Saturday 6 August. From Jo Malone beauty products to Vivienne Westwood shoes, the shop will be stocked with a wide range of high end preloved items for one day only.
Denise Waterson, charity shop manager, expects demand to be high and queues to be long on the day. She said: “This is the first designer clothes sale day we’ve ever done and I’m really excited. We’ve got hundreds of designer bargains – it’s going to be great!
“Our homeware sale events have a good reputation in Glasgow, and we often get queues going down the road – with the designer items we have saved for our August event, I suspect there’ll be just as much interest this time too!
“We’ve been lucky and had some truly unique donations from our generous donors. The menswear is particularly good – we’ve got some barely worn suits and casualwear. We’ve also got a fabulous selection of designer shoes and handbags as well as some absolutely beautiful baby clothes. I think Glasgow’s bargain hunters are going to love what’s on offer and I hope that we’re able to raise lots of funds for The Salvation Army on the day.”
The shop at 91 Dumbarton Road plays a vital role in raising money for The Salvation Army to help vulnerable people in communities like Glasgow across the UK.
While Denise and her busy team of staff and volunteers have been getting the donations ready for the event, she has been able to reveal that among the items for sale are a number of cashmere sweaters, children’s items from Ralph Lauren, women’s fashion from LK Bennett, Coast and Calvin Klein, men’s suits by Ted Baker, and accessories from Liberty, Radley and Converse.
Denise adds: “I want to remind everyone that this is a one day only event. Once it’s gone, it’s gone!”
