Donation sponsors ten children to attend summer camp
On Monday 9 April, Divisional Commander (DC) for the Central East Division of The Salvation Army arrived on the doorstep of SATCoL Support Centre to be greeted with a cheque for £1200, a donation for his efforts.
Major Martin Hill pledged to cycle to every centre within his division, which covers 341 miles over, 5 days to raise funds that will allow children to attend the Divisional Children’s Camp later this year.
Managing Director of SATCoL, Trevor Caffull said: “We were delighted to support Major Hill in his fundraising efforts, and that he visited our centre as part of this challenge as a recognition of SATCoL’s contribution to the work of The Salvation Army.
The Divisional Children’s Camp will be an opportunity for children to make new friends and have a fun-filled Christian experience. My memories of camp when I was a youngster remind me just how important it is to support these events.”
SATCoL’s donation means that 10 children have been sponsored to attend the residential camp in May.
